Toshiba introduces rechargeable battery technology for mining instruments

With a global increase in the demand for minerals, concerns are being raised about decarbonisation in the mining sector. To address this issue, Toshiba has introduced its SCiB™ rechargeable battery technology for mining equipment that would maximise electrification and decarbonisation and ensure safety and durability inside mines. The SCiB™ battery uses Lithium Titanium Oxide (LTO), and has features like long life, high safety and quick charge, thus making it ideal for mining equipment electrification.
