Achilles and Procureship have entered into a long-term partnership to strengthen ESG standards within the shipping industry’s procurement operations.
The agreement will allow users of the Procureship platform — which includes over 100 fleet owners and operators such as BW LNG, Angelicoussis Group, and Starbulk — to access Achilles’ supplier sustainability data during the procurement process. The collaboration is expected to streamline supplier assessments and improve transparency in supply chain operations.
Achilles operates a maritime network that facilitates cooperation between shipowners, managers, and suppliers, offering standardised pre-qualification processes to reduce risks and administrative overheads. Member companies include BW LNG and LPG, Odfjell, Seapeak, and Seasourcing.
As part of the agreement, suppliers listed on Procureship will have the option to undergo independent evaluation via the Achilles Sustainability Score. This score will be integrated into supplier profiles and search results, providing maritime buyers with real-time access to ESG-related performance data during quotation assessments.
Grigoris Lamprou, Co-Founder and Chief Executive of Procureship, said the integration of ESG capabilities was a response to growing industry demand for transparency. “Our clients increasingly seek reliable sustainability data from suppliers. This partnership enables that visibility within our procurement platform,” he noted.
Paul Stanley, Chief Executive of Achilles, added: “Incorporating ESG metrics into purchasing workflows is essential. Our partnership with Procureship supports procurement professionals in identifying suppliers that meet high sustainability standards while improving efficiency across the supply chain.”
The collaboration reflects a broader industry trend towards embedding ESG criteria in maritime operations and procurement systems.
