The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) has entered into a strategic partnership with Keppel Ltd., targeting up to USD 1.5 billion in sustainable infrastructure investments across the Asia-Pacific region. The agreement was signed on the sidelines of AIIB’s 10th Annual Meeting in Beijing.
The collaboration, involving Keppel’s fund management and investment platforms, will focus on financing infrastructure projects that promote green development, regional connectivity, and digital innovation. The investment scope includes renewable energy, power transmission, digital infrastructure, transport, and urban services.
According to Rajat Misra, AIIB’s Acting Chief Investment Officer for Region 1 and Global Clients, the agreement reinforces AIIB’s commitment to financing resilient and forward-looking infrastructure. “We look forward to expanding our collaboration to support infrastructure that is green, technology-enabled and regionally connected,” he said.
Keppel CEO of Fund Management Christina Tan noted that despite increasing investment in sustainable infrastructure, the region continues to face a significant infrastructure deficit. She emphasised that the partnership would help bridge this gap, combining AIIB’s financial capacity with Keppel’s operational experience in managing large-scale assets.
The agreement runs through December 2030 and supports AIIB’s corporate strategy for the decade. It also aims to enhance institutional cooperation and knowledge sharing between the two entities, further aligning with AIIB’s priorities around green infrastructure, private capital mobilisation and technology integration.
