Austrian technology group ANDRITZ has announced the receipt of an order for authority engineering of a 100 MW green hydrogen plant in Rostock, Germany. The order, confirmed on 3 March 2025, marks a significant step in the company’s growing role in the European hydrogen market.
The final investment decision by the customer will determine whether ANDRITZ proceeds with the full-scale supply of the plant. If approved, the company will deliver the green hydrogen facility on an Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) basis. The project will utilise HydrogenPro’s pressurised alkaline electrolysis technology to produce green hydrogen, furthering Europe’s transition to clean energy.
Sami Pelkonen, Executive Vice President of Green Hydrogen at ANDRITZ, described the order as a key milestone: “This order strengthens our partnership with HydrogenPro and underscores our firm position within Europe’s hydrogen value chain. We are proud to contribute to the shift towards sustainable energy solutions.”
Jarle Dragvik, CEO of HydrogenPro, also highlighted the strategic importance of the collaboration: “Our partnership with ANDRITZ places us in a strong position with customers, reaffirming the strength of our strategic alliance. We are excited to continue playing a pivotal role in Europe’s decarbonisation journey.”
