ASUS joins Taiwan’ ESG platform, launches natural impact report

ASUS has announced its participation in Taiwan’s Carbon Sink and Biodiversity ESG Project Matching Platform, an initiative by the Forestry and Nature Conservation Agency under the Ministry of Agriculture. This move positions ASUS among the first companies to join the platform, which facilitates corporate investments in government-certified forest and biodiversity conservation projects through public-private partnerships to enhance natural carbon sinks and promote biodiversity.

At the Ministry of Agriculture event, ASUS Chairman Jonney Shih emphasised the company’s strategic focus on biodiversity, highlighting both within-value-chain management and beyond-value-chain initiatives. He also announced the release of ASUS’s first Natural Impact Assessment Report, aligning with international standards set by the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD).

He said, “ASUS is honored to become one of the first companies to have a self-proposed project successfully matched and approved. This demonstrates our unwavering commitment to creating a more incredible, sustainable world.”

As part of its conservation efforts, ASUS is participating in the Daxue Mountain Middle-Altitude Pangolin Habitat Enhancement and Conservation Project, which is approved by Taiwan’s Forestry and Nature Conservation Agency. This initiative aims to restore pangolin habitats and promote eco-friendly agriculture.

ASUS has a longstanding commitment to sustainable development, illustrated by its pioneering Environmental Profit and Loss Report (EP&L) released in 2018. This year, ASUS expanded its biodiversity efforts with the Natural Impact Assessment Report, using the LEAP (Locate, Evaluate, Assess, and Prepare) methodology to assess the ecological impact of its operations and supply chain. ASUS plans to continue leveraging innovative technologies, such as generative AI, to enhance biodiversity management and integrate environmental sustainability into its business strategy.
