Bain & Company and Terralytiq partner to accelerate supply chain decarbonisation

Bain & Company has formalised a strategic partnership with Terralytiq, a provider of supply chain decarbonisation intelligence solutions, to enhance support for businesses seeking to reduce Scope 3 emissions and meet near-term climate targets.

The collaboration builds on an existing relationship between the two firms and will see Bain leverage Terralytiq’s AI-driven platform to help clients optimise supply chains for carbon and cost efficiency. The partnership aims to deliver advanced emissions tracking and analytics, enabling companies to develop detailed product carbon footprints and streamline supplier engagement.

The joint offering will use procurement data to generate facility- and supplier-specific emissions insights while automating aspects of data collection traditionally handled manually. According to the firms, this could significantly reduce the time needed between emissions planning and implementation.

Torsten Lichtenau, senior partner and global head of Bain & Company’s Climate Change and Decarbonisation practice, said the alliance would support business leaders struggling to manage Scope 3 emissions. He noted that the partnership combines Bain’s strategic expertise with Terralytiq’s granular analytics to inform decision-making at the executive level.

Terralytiq CEO and co-founder Alexander Pfeiffer said early users of the platform had already reduced Scope 3 data collection time by up to 70% and uncovered cost-saving opportunities. He added that the expanded partnership with Bain would support clients in embedding both resilience and emissions reductions into their supply chains.

The partnership is already serving companies across sectors including energy, manufacturing, financial services and technology, and is expected to expand into additional industries in 2025.
