BlackRock has strengthened its position in the BlackRock ESG Capital Allocation Term Trust by acquiring an additional 101,600 common shares, according to a recent filing. The transaction, completed on 21 March 2025, was executed at a weighted average price of $16.20 per share, bringing the total value of the purchase to approximately $1.65 million.
With this latest acquisition, BlackRock’s direct ownership in the ESG-focused trust has risen to 1,176,800 shares. A further 5,000 shares are held indirectly through BlackRock Financial Management, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of the firm. The move signals BlackRock’s continued confidence in the trust, which aligns with its broader environmental, social, and governance (ESG) investment strategy.
The BlackRock ESG Capital Allocation Term Trust is currently valued at $1.61 billion and offers an appealing dividend yield of 22.66%, according to data from InvestingPro. It trades at a relatively modest price-to-earnings ratio of 6.27 and is presently hovering near its 52-week low of $15.90, with low share price volatility.
