The Carbon Trust has appointed Wei Mei Hum as its new Head of Asia, placing her in charge of the organisation’s Singapore office as it looks to expand its presence and impact across key regional markets, including the Philippines, Malaysia, Vietnam and Indonesia.
In her new role, Wei Mei Hum will lead efforts to strengthen partnerships, enhance market and policy capabilities, and support organisations across Asia in delivering credible emissions reductions. She will also oversee the development of tailored climate solutions designed to address the specific transition challenges and opportunities facing Asian economies.
The appointment comes as the Carbon Trust seeks to deepen engagement with clients and partners across the region to support decarbonisation strategies and unlock the economic benefits of the energy transition. Wei Mei Hum will also represent the organisation at major regional events, working with businesses, governments and financial institutions aiming to accelerate progress towards net zero.
Commenting on her appointment, Wei Mei Hum said: “2026 is a crucial year for climate action, and we must continue to drive momentum in Asia and globally towards a decarbonised economy. For 25 years, the Carbon Trust has shown that through collaboration, business, governments and financial institutions can find innovative solutions to overcome the challenges of the transition to net zero. As Head of Asia, I am honoured to be working with my new team in Singapore and look forward to partnering with leaders across the region to turn climate ambition into action.”
Laura Timlin, Asia & Europe Market Director at the Carbon Trust, said Wei Mei Hum’s appointment reflects the importance of strong leadership as climate risks intensify. “Wei Mei’s passion and expertise will help unlock the benefits of a low-carbon economy, amplifying our impact with clients and partners across Asia. As climate challenges accelerate, bold leadership matters,” she said.
