CDP, the global non-profit running the world’s only independent environmental disclosure system, has announced a major organisational restructure aimed at accelerating its mission to deliver actionable environmental data that supports critical decision-making for the planet.
The restructuring initiative will refine CDP’s global operating model and bolster capabilities in areas such as Product, Growth, Operations, and Customer Success. According to the organisation, this shift will improve services for its stakeholders and partners while channelling greater resources toward innovation and environmental impact.
Sherry Madera, Chief Executive Officer at CDP, said: “The restructure announced today will enable CDP to invest in the resilience and innovation of tomorrow – reflecting our commitment to our partners and stakeholders across the ecosystem. We are relied upon to deliver consistent, comparable data that enables faster, smarter decisions – for sustainable business and the wider economy.”
Since its establishment in 2000, CDP has developed and maintained the world’s most extensive database of self-reported environmental data. The information gathered through its annual disclosure process supports financial markets, indices, investment research, and corporate strategy, serving over 700 financial institutions and 300 global supply chain leaders.
The new strategy for 2025 includes:
- Delivering sector-specific, actionable insights via a use-case model;
- Streamlining disclosure to minimise duplication and reduce manual reporting burdens;
- Enhancing access to high-quality, standard-aligned data for financial institutions, policymakers, and the public.
CDP also plans to reinvest in skills and expertise aligned with its evolving goals, aiming to maximise the impact of donor support and better serve stakeholders across the environmental and economic spectrum. “Our priority remains supporting a whole-economy approach to planet and profit,” Madera added. “It is with deep gratitude that we thank our CDP team and recognise their valuable contributions in pursuit of our bold vision.”
