Chestnut Carbon appoints former JPMorgan sustainability leader as COO

Chestnut Carbon, a developer of nature-based carbon removal projects, has appointed Brian DiMarino as its new Chief Operating Officer. The hire is intended to strengthen the company’s leadership team as it expands its forest carbon project operations.

DiMarino previously served as Managing Director and Deputy Director of Global Sustainability, Strategy and Operations at JPMorgan Chase, where he oversaw firmwide sustainability strategy, target-setting and engagement. His work included advancing the bank’s commitments to carbon neutrality, greenhouse gas reductions and resource management.

“I’m honoured to step into this new role and excited to help drive real change at scale alongside the talented team at Chestnut Carbon,” DiMarino said. “I’m eager to take on new challenges with a company that is passionate about delivering high-integrity, nature-based carbon projects.”

Ben Dell, Chief Executive Officer of Chestnut Carbon, welcomed the appointment. “His proven track record in sustainability and operational leadership will be invaluable as we continue to grow and deliver verifiable forest carbon offsets that help industries accelerate their path to net zero,” he said.
