DHL launches GoGreen Plus Portfolio with default 10% emissions cut

DHL Global Forwarding has launched a new GoGreen Plus Portfolio, introducing three decarbonisation products aimed at expanding access to low-emission logistics services worldwide.

The portfolio includes GoGreen Plus Base, Premium and Select options. In what the company describes as an industry first, GoGreen Plus Base provides a default 10% emissions reduction on all eligible shipments at a fixed flat rate, operating on an opt-out basis and without additional charges beyond the standard rate.

The Premium option offers up to 85% emissions reduction through book-and-claim solutions, priced at lane level, while Select provides tailored decarbonisation solutions with flexible reduction levels for large customers, customised to individual supply chains.

Kathrin Brost, Vice President and Global Head of the GoGreen Programme at DHL Global Forwarding, said: “You don’t need to invest millions to make a difference. Any business can start small, with just a few extra Euros per shipment and without additional effort. This is a major step forward toward enabling more sustainable supply chains at scale.”

All three products are based on a book-and-claim approach, under which DHL replaces fossil fuels with sustainable fuels within its network and allocates the associated environmental benefits to participating customers, even if their shipments are not physically transported using those fuels.

The company said the expanded portfolio responds to growing demand for emissions-reduced logistics services and supports DHL Group’s target of achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050, including an interim goal of using 30% sustainable fuels by 2030.

Amanda Rasmussen, Chief Commercial Officer at DHL Global Forwarding, said: “We are proud to introduce solutions that truly change what customers can expect from emission reduced logistics.”
