EcoVadis launches supplier sustainability community platform

EcoVadis has launched a new Sustainability Community platform designed for suppliers that have received an EcoVadis rating, aiming to strengthen peer collaboration and accelerate sustainability implementation across global supply chains.

The platform is available exclusively to companies that have been assessed through EcoVadis’ sustainability ratings system. Since its founding, the company has rated more than 150,000 businesses globally, including over 25,000 new companies added in the past year, making the network one of the largest sustainability-focused supplier communities.

The launch comes at a time when businesses are continuing to integrate sustainability into core operations despite political and regulatory uncertainties. According to EcoVadis, collaboration plays a critical role in organisational learning, with research indicating that 91% of teams develop new skills more effectively when working together.

However, many small and mid-sized supplier teams—often central to global supply chains—face what EcoVadis describes as an “execution gap”, where companies understand sustainability expectations but lack practical guidance and peer support to translate ratings into real operational improvements.

The new community platform aims to address this challenge by creating a peer-to-peer collaboration network where suppliers can exchange practical strategies and lessons learned.

Pierre-François Thaler, Co-founder and Co-CEO of EcoVadis, said sustainability ratings should act as a catalyst for action rather than simply a measurement tool.

“A sustainability rating is more than a score; it is a signal for change. But real value is created through the action that follows,” he said.

“The narrative that sustainability is slowing down is a myth; our data shows that behind the scenes, businesses are actually integrating it more deeply into their DNA. But we heard from our customers that they felt isolated in their journey. By launching this community, we are unlocking the collective intelligence of our network, connecting customers with peers who have already solved the same complex challenges, from decarbonising logistics to ensuring ethical labour practices.”

The online platform enables rated suppliers to connect with other sustainability practitioners, exchange practical insights and collaborate on addressing common supply chain risks.

Participants will also be able to access a library of peer-contributed case examples that demonstrate how companies are tackling issues such as decarbonisation, human rights due diligence and circular economy practices.

In addition, the community will host expert-led discussion groups on emerging topics, including regulatory compliance and circular economy strategies, helping companies strengthen supply chain resilience while advancing sustainability goals.
