EcoVadis sustainability medals now visible on Amazon Business

Sellers holding an EcoVadis Medal or Badge can now display their verified sustainability credentials directly on their profiles within the Amazon Business marketplace.

The move is intended to support more standardised sustainable procurement practices by increasing transparency and helping buyers identify suppliers with independently validated environmental, social and ethical performance.

Companies are facing growing pressure from regulators, investors and customers to strengthen supply-chain due diligence and comply with mandatory environmental and sustainability reporting requirements. As a result, organisations are increasingly seeking suppliers that can demonstrate data-backed sustainability practices rather than simple compliance.

Pierre-François Thaler, co-chief executive and co-founder of EcoVadis, said the market was demanding greater transparency in procurement decisions. He said the integration would enable procurement teams to make faster and more informed purchasing choices, while recognising sellers that are investing in sustainability performance.

Under the new feature, sellers that have completed an EcoVadis assessment and achieved a Bronze, Silver, Gold or Platinum Medal, or a Committed Badge, can showcase this recognition on Amazon Business. Buyers can immediately see confirmation of a supplier’s performance across the four pillars of the EcoVadis methodology: Environment, Labour and Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement.

The integration also allows Amazon Business customers to filter and prioritise sellers with verified sustainability profiles, making it easier to align purchasing decisions with corporate sustainability goals.

The initiative builds on an existing collaboration between Amazon and EcoVadis that began in 2018, which includes the use of EcoVadis Ratings, IQ Plus risk mapping, Vitals and Carbon Action Manager tools to support sustainable procurement. The latest development aligns with Amazon’s wider sustainability objectives, including its Climate Pledge to decarbonise operations.

Jennifer Carroll, Senior Certifications Manager at Amazon Business, said the integration reflects growing customer demand for sustainable purchasing options and would help business buyers make more informed procurement decisions.

The feature is available immediately across EU Amazon Business stores, including the United Kingdom, France, Spain, Italy and Germany, for EcoVadis Premium, Select and Corporate subscribers. Sellers are encouraged to complete an EcoVadis assessment or upgrade their subscription to access the new visibility on product listings.
