ERM and Jupiter Intelligence have announced a partnership aimed at helping organisations incorporate extreme weather risk into business strategy and operational planning.
The collaboration combines Jupiter’s climate risk analytics with ERM’s advisory and resilience planning services, with a focus on integrating physical climate risk into capital planning, operational strategy and supply chain management.
As extreme weather events increase in frequency and severity, companies are facing growing exposure across assets and operations. The partnership is intended to support organisations in assessing these risks and applying the findings to decision-making processes, including investment and adaptation planning.
Jupiter provides climate hazard projections designed for institutional use, while ERM will integrate these analytics into client operations, including facility-level risk assessments and supply chain vulnerability analyses.
Michael Mangiante, Partner and Global Co-Lead for Climate Risk & Resiliency at ERM, said: “As severe weather events become more frequent and intense, businesses and investors are increasingly focused on the impact of physical climate risks on their operations and portfolios. Jupiter’s best-in-class, science-based climate risk projections enable ERM to provide clients with the most accurate estimates of how these risks will impact their business models and strategies, ensuring we can help them take the actions required to build resilience and protect value.”
The companies have already collaborated on projects across sectors. In finance, this has included portfolio-scale hazard analysis for infrastructure investors and asset managers to support due diligence and capital planning. In manufacturing, the partnership has involved integrating climate hazard projections into operational resilience assessments and supply chain analyses.
Rich Sorkin, co-founder and CEO of Jupiter Intelligence, said: “Organisations today need to act on physical and extreme weather risk exposure with clarity and speed — moving from understanding risk to building resilience. Combining Jupiter’s science with ERM’s strategic insight and implementation expertise ensures customers can move from understanding to action.”
