Greenhouse Gas Protocol has released the final survey report and final proposal summary of feedback received on Scope 3 standards. These will support the development of specific work plans and inform discussions on updates to the Scope 3 Standard and related GHG Protocol standards.
Between November 2022 and March 2023, the GHG Protocol invited interested stakeholders to provide feedback via four surveys on the Corporate Standard, the Scope 2 Guidance, the Scope 3 Standard, and market-based accounting approaches.
A draft version of the Scope 3 Survey Summary was released in March 2024 and comments were invited from individuals/organisations who completed the survey. After reviewing all the comments submitted, the GHG Protocol Secretariat has released the Scope 3 Survey Final Summary Report.
GHG Protocol received 354 responses to the Scope 3 survey and over 100 proposals related to the Scope 3.
The GHG Protocol Secretariat will continue to solicit new information and review relevant research studies related to the Scope 3 Standard as they become available throughout the update process.
