H&M and Stella McCartney announce sustainability-focused collaboration

H&M has unveiled a new partnership with Stella McCartney, with a collection set to launch in spring 2026 that places sustainability and industry-wide dialogue at its core. The line will feature certified and responsibly sourced materials — many of them recycled — and will draw on McCartney’s signature silhouettes and design language.

The collaboration marks a shift in H&M’s designer partnerships, expanding beyond the creation of a collection to emphasise debate, advocacy and long-term systemic change in fashion. Central to the initiative is the creation of an Insights Board, a forum bringing together diverse voices from across the industry to explore new ideas, encourage transparency and advance innovation, including improvements in animal welfare and next-generation materials.

The move aims to foster meaningful discussion and lasting impact, with both partners saying sustainability must remain a central topic in fashion, approached with honesty and optimism.

Reflecting on the renewed partnership, Stella McCartney said: “I’m excited to reunite with H&M 20 years after our first collaboration… This second partnership feels like a chance to look at how far we’ve come on sustainability, cruelty-free practices and conscious designs — and to stay honest about how far we still have to go.”

Ann-Sofie Johansson, H&M’s creative advisor, described McCartney as a “ground breaker”, and said her commitment to sustainable design has long inspired the company. “It’s an honour to partner with her on such an ambitious project,” she said.

The Stella McCartney x H&M collection will be available in stores and online from spring 2026.
