Hyundai Motor Group and Air Liquide have renewed and expanded their strategic partnership to support the development of the global hydrogen ecosystem, the companies announced at the Hydrogen Council CEO Summit in Seoul. The updated memorandum of understanding aims to accelerate progress in hydrogen production, storage, transport and use across major regions, including Europe, South Korea and the United States.
The collaboration will prioritise applications in heavy-duty transport, logistics and public transit. Hyundai and Air Liquide said the partnership would combine their respective expertise in mobility technologies and industrial hydrogen systems to support broader decarbonisation efforts and long-term carbon-neutrality goals.
Ken Ramirez, Head of Energy & Hydrogen Business Division at Hyundai Motor Group, said: “Together, we are building a robust hydrogen value chain… making hydrogen a practical and sustainable solution for global energy challenges.”
Armelle Levieux, Vice President of Innovation, Electronics and Hydrogen at Air Liquide, added: “Collaborations like this between leaders across the value chain are essential to building the hydrogen economy.”
Areas of joint work include expanding hydrogen refuelling infrastructure, strengthening supply chains for low-carbon and renewable hydrogen, and deploying fuel-cell electric vehicles for logistics fleets, public buses and port operations.
