The International Finance Corporation (IFC) has appointed Sarvesh Suri as its Regional Vice President for Asia and the Pacific, tasking him with leading all investment and advisory operations across the region. IFC said Suri will focus on mobilising private sector capital to address development challenges and support job creation.
Working as part of the World Bank Group, Suri will oversee IFC teams operating from India to the Pacific Islands. These teams develop private sector solutions across financial services, manufacturing, agribusiness, services, infrastructure and natural resources, aimed at delivering economic and social impact. He will be based in Singapore.
Suri will be supported by two regional division directors. Keiko Miwa, based in Jakarta, will oversee South West Asia and the Pacific Islands, while Arnaud Dupoizat, based in Hong Kong SAR, China, will take charge of East Asia from 1 February 2026.
In a statement, Suri said it was a privilege to return to Asia in a role focused on creating meaningful and lasting impact. He noted that the region’s development challenges require stronger collaboration between the public and private sectors to generate jobs and support livelihoods.
Before his appointment, Suri served as IFC’s Regional Industry Director for Infrastructure and Natural Resources, based in Johannesburg, where he played a key role in launching Mission 300. He previously spent six years at the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency as Director of Operations, overseeing global risk mitigation products for cross-border investments in developing economies. Earlier in his career, he held multiple leadership roles at IFC, including Senior Regional Manager for Southeast Asia and the Pacific, based in Jakarta.
Suri said his priorities in the new role will centre on job creation by mobilising private capital, expanding the use of innovative financing instruments, strengthening local capital markets, making targeted equity investments and supporting micro-, small- and medium-sized enterprises.
An Indian national, Suri holds a postgraduate diploma in business management from the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad and a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Delhi.
