The International Tin Association (ITA) has announced the launch of the Responsible Tin Network, a new initiative aimed at enhancing collaboration and addressing environmental, social, and governance (ESG) challenges across the global tin supply chain.
The initiative follows a year of stakeholder engagement by ITA’s Sustainability team, involving smelters, recyclers, and major brand users. These discussions identified a pressing need for a coordinated, action-oriented platform to strengthen supply chain transparency and resilience.
In response to growing regulatory and market expectations surrounding responsible sourcing and ESG performance, the Responsible Tin Network offers a platform for companies to:
- Share ESG-related experiences and challenges
- Encourage the use of Tin Code reports and independent audit findings
- Develop scalable, impact-driven solutions
- Strengthen relationships across the supply chain
The platform builds on ITA’s Tin Code framework, which sets standards for responsible tin production and sourcing. The network aims to support improved traceability, supply chain due diligence, and circular economy practices through the promotion of recycled tin.
Participation in the Responsible Tin Network is open and free until June 2026, with early registrants invited to shape collective priorities and contribute to setting the industry’s future agenda.
