JPX launches tool to aid TSE companies in ESG reporting

Japan Exchange Group (JPX) and JPX Market Innovation & Research have introduced the ‘JPX Sustainability Information Search Tool (Beta Version)’ for companies listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE). This tool aims to enhance sustainability-related disclosures by providing an easy-to-use platform for TSE-listed companies to access sustainability information from other Prime Market-listed companies.

The tool allows users to view links to sustainability information, such as annual securities reports, integrated reports, and websites, for 38 Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) topics. It facilitates the process for companies to gather relevant information to guide their own sustainability disclosures.

This tool is free to use but restricted to TSE-listed companies, and is available in Japanese. It is in its beta version to gather feedback and assess its usefulness. Cierpa & Company, Inc. has provided the technological support for this tool, utilizing AI to analyse and organise the sustainability data by company and ESG topic. Additionally, users can filter the information by company type, publication year, and ESG topic, enabling an efficient and detailed search across multiple companies.
