LEGOLAND New York has added kinetic dance floors at its Minifigure Skyflyer attraction in partnership with Dutch company Energy Floors. These floors convert visitors’ steps into usable electricity using movement-tracking technology.
Advanced control units and visual data displays allow visitors to see how their actions directly contribute to energy generation, providing an engaging and educational experience. The setup includes two kinetic tile dance floors and interactive screens featuring LEGO minifigures, promoting awareness of renewable energy.
Michel Smit, CEO of Energy Floors said, “This collaboration with LEGOLAND New York exemplifies how interactive elements can enhance the visitor experience while promoting sustainability. Our customisable kinetic tiles can adapt to any theme, making it easy to integrate them into diverse environments.” He added, “As guests engage with our kinetic dance floors, they contribute to renewable energy generation, turning waiting periods into fun, educational experiences.”
