Meta and Zelestra expand US clean energy partnership with Texas solar PPA

Meta and Zelestra have expanded their clean energy partnership through a new power purchase agreement (PPA) covering the 176 MWdc (136 MWac) Skull Creek Solar Plant in Texas.

The agreement supports Meta’s strategy to add new generation capacity to the grid while continuing to match its operations with 100% clean and renewable energy.

With the latest PPA, Zelestra and Meta now have contracted around 1.2 GWdc of solar capacity across seven projects in the United States. All projects are scheduled to be operational by 2028. Two entered construction in late 2025, with the remaining projects expected to begin construction in 2026.

The announcement follows Zelestra’s recent milestone at the 81 MWdc Jasper County Solar Project in Indiana, which has reached full commercial operations. Jasper County is the first project under the partnership between the two companies to come online.

Phil North, Zelestra’s US Chief Executive Officer, said the collaboration is accelerating across multiple states. “Our clean energy collaboration with Meta is gathering momentum across the US. We are delighted to welcome full operations at Jasper County and the start of construction at two further major projects, while also closing another significant agreement that will enable the construction of Skull Creek in Texas. Through this forward-looking partnership, nearly 1.2 GWdc of new clean solar power will soon be operational in the US.”

Headquartered in Arlington, Virginia, Zelestra is strengthening its position in the US energy market by delivering multi-technology renewable solutions tailored to the needs of hyperscalers and other corporate customers. The company is currently developing a pipeline of around 15 GW of renewable energy projects across key US markets.
