Nana Li appointed Head of Sustainability and Stewardship, Asia-Pacific at Impax

Impax Asset Management has appointed Nana Li as its new Head of Sustainability and Stewardship, Asia-Pacific Director. In this capacity, Li will oversee the firm’s sustainability initiatives and stewardship strategies across the region, playing a critical role in advancing Impax’s proprietary ESG analysis, methodologies, and sustainability research. 

Li will focus on engaging with investee companies, regulators, policymakers, standard setters, and stock exchanges in the Asia-Pacific market. Her work will include prioritising and leading these engagements to align with Impax’s commitment to responsible investment. Additionally, she will direct the firm’s voting activities as a responsible shareholder, attending annual general meetings and collaborating with proxy advisors to ensure accountability and alignment with sustainability goals. 

A significant part of her role will involve implementing and refining Impax’s Investment Stewardship strategy to address regional priorities. Li will also contribute to multi-stakeholder research projects and collaborate on product development to enhance Impax’s offerings. Furthermore, she will provide analytical support to clients and internal stakeholders, reinforcing the firm’s position as a leader in sustainable investment. 

Before joining Impax, Li worked at the Asian Corporate Governance Association for eight years, holding various roles. A well-known commentator on ESG topics, she is currently a member of the International Corporate Governance Network, Caixin’s China ESG30 Forum, and the non-profit organisation Women in Finance Asia.

Li holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Chicago and a Master’s in Finance and Risk Management from the University of Hong Kong.
