Nike appoints Cimarron Nix as Chief Sustainability Officer

Nike has appointed Cimarron Nix as its new Chief Sustainability Officer, filling the position internally as the company continues to advance its sustainability strategy.

Nix, a nine-year veteran of Nike’s sourcing and manufacturing operations and currently based in Singapore, will assume the role from 15 March. She will relocate to the company’s global headquarters in Beaverton, Oregon, and report to Chief Operating Officer Venkatesh Alagirisamy.

Announcing the appointment in an internal email shared with Trellis, Alagirisamy said Nix would play a key role in driving the company’s sustainability agenda.

“She and her team will continue to deliver measurable progress toward our sustainability targets while helping shape the vision and priorities for our extended team of sustainability experts embedded across the enterprise,” he wrote.

Nix succeeds Jaycee Pribulsky, who left Nike in September 2025 after serving 19 months in the role to become partner and Chief Sustainability Officer at private equity firm Apollo Management Group.

Like her predecessor, Nix comes from Nike’s sourcing and manufacturing organisation, having held several roles focused on sustainable sourcing, responsible manufacturing, and health and safety.

Before joining Nike, she worked on supply chain responsibility initiatives at technology company HP. Her earlier career also included roles at J. Crew, Level 3 Communications and Citigroup.

Nike streamlined its sustainability team in 2024 as part of a wider financial turnaround strategy. According to the company’s 2024 impact report, Nike was on track to meet its operational emissions reduction targets for fiscal year 2025.

However, the report also noted that progress on reducing freshwater consumption in production and expanding recycling and refurbishment of product waste remained behind schedule.
