The French Commission for the Regulation of Energy (CRE) announced the results of the latest onshore wind bidding round (AO 15), totaling 1,058.1 MW at an average price of 87.80 euros/MWh in which RWE, a German energy company, secured contracts for four projects.
The projects will have a pro-rata capacity of 62.5 MW and a combined gross capacity of 78 MW. Three of these projects will be fully developed by RWE, while one will be co-developed with Vent du Nord.
The four RWE projects are located in the northern half of France. The first project, an extension of the Douiche wind farm in Somme, will feature seven turbines with a total capacity of 28 MW. In the Hauts-de-France region (Aisne department), the Quatre Jallois wind farm, co-owned by Vent du Nord, will have four turbines with a total capacity of 20.7 MW. The Chemin de Châlons wind farm in Marne will consist of three turbines with a total capacity of 11 MW. Lastly, the Chemin de Saint Gilles wind farm, RWE’s first venture in the Vendée region, will comprise five turbines with a total capacity of 18.4 MW.
