Schneider Electric cuts supplier emissions 56%, surpasses 800 Mt CO₂ target

Schneider Electric has published its 2025 extra-financial results, marking the completion of its Schneider Sustainability Impact (SSI) 2021–2025 programme, with the company reporting significant progress across climate, social and governance indicators.

By the end of the fourth quarter of 2025, the SSI programme recorded an overall score of 8.86 out of 10, reflecting the scale of sustainability initiatives implemented across the company and its value chain.

“The completion of our five-year Sustainability Impact programme reflects the deep commitment of our people, partners and customers,” said Fredrick Morency, Vice President of Sustainability, Strategic Initiatives and Innovation at Schneider Electric Canada. “Sustainability is embedded in how we operate and how we support Canada’s energy transition.”

Schneider Electric said its technologies and solutions helped customers save and avoid 862 million tonnes of CO₂ emissions by the end of 2025, exceeding its original target of 800 million tonnes.

Through its Zero Carbon Project, the company also worked with its top 1,000 suppliers to advance decarbonisation, contributing to a 56% reduction in suppliers’ operational CO₂ emissions. The firm added that 98% of its strategic suppliers now comply with its Decent Work standards, which promote ethical labour practices, human rights protections and employee wellbeing.

The company has also expanded access to energy through its Access to Energy initiative, launched in 2009. By the end of 2025, the programme had benefited more than 61 million people worldwide, surpassing the original goal of 50 million.

Schneider Electric said it has also invested heavily in skills development, training more than one million people in energy management since 2009 to support long-term community resilience and the global energy transition.

Since 2021, the company has implemented more than 500 local sustainability initiatives across the countries where it operates.

“Closing SSI 2021–2025 marks an important milestone for our teams in Canada and around the world,” Morency said. “As we look ahead to 2030, our focus remains on accelerating decarbonisation, advancing innovation and delivering tangible results that benefit both business and society.”
