Schneider Electric shares EPD data for 50,000 products via One Click LCA

Schneider Electric has partnered with sustainability software provider One Click LCA to make environmental product data for more than 50,000 of its electrical components publicly accessible. The data, in the form of Type III Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs), is now available through One Click LCA’s digital platform.

The move aims to address a longstanding gap in the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) sector, where environmental data for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems has often been limited or difficult to access. This has made it challenging for industry professionals to accurately assess the embodied carbon of building projects.

By integrating Schneider Electric’s EPDs into One Click LCA’s platform, architects, engineers, and contractors can incorporate environmental considerations into life cycle assessments and better account for emissions linked to MEP systems.

“This extensive dataset enables AEC professionals to consider the carbon impact of electrical products in their planning and decision-making,” said Sorouch Kheradmand, Global Head of Sustainability Partnerships at Schneider Electric.

Panu Pasanen, CEO and founder of One Click LCA, added: “Contractors and engineers require clear, reliable data to evaluate material impacts. This development may encourage broader transparency across the sector.”

The availability of such information is viewed as a step toward improving environmental accountability in construction, particularly as the industry works to reduce emissions associated with building services.
