SoftBank Robotics acquires Green Clean Commercial

SoftBank Robotics America has announced the acquisition of Green Clean Commercial in a strategic move to scale “physical AI” within the facility services sector. The deal facilitates the launch of Smart Building X (SBX), an intelligent platform designed to integrate traditional manual labour with advanced robotics, automation, and predictive intelligence.

The initiative seeks to modernise the labour-intensive cleaning and maintenance industry by transforming it into a data-driven service model. By embedding AI directly into live service environments, the SBX platform allows robotic systems to learn and improve performance in real-time. This continuous optimisation aims to align resources precisely with market needs while reducing systemic redundancies for national multi-site clients.

“This acquisition marks a defining step in SoftBank Robotics’ strategy to transform one of the world’s most labour-intensive industries into a technology-powered growth engine,” said Brady Watkins, President and GM of SoftBank Robotics America. He noted that the move fundamentally redefines building maintenance by delivering measurable efficiency gains and a more scalable model for customers.

Under the new structure, Green Clean Commercial will serve as the operational engine. The company is set to be rebranded as “Green Clean Commercial, powered by SBX,” signalling its evolution from a conventional janitorial provider into an AI performance partner.

Elliott Stipes, Founder and CEO of Green Clean Commercial, commented that the facility services industry is moving rapidly towards intelligent buildings and measurable outcomes. He stated that the SBX platform allows the company to deliver that future immediately, supported by SoftBank’s global innovation leadership.
