thyssenkrupp nucera completes acquisition of Green Hydrogen Systems assets

thyssenkrupp nucera has finalised the acquisition of key technology assets from Danish firm Green Hydrogen Systems (GHS), following regulatory approvals and the consent of the court-appointed insolvency administrator. The deal, first announced in June, includes intellectual property and a test facility with a full-scale prototype in Skive, Denmark.

The acquisition strengthens thyssenkrupp nucera’s capabilities in alkaline water electrolysis (AWE), adding pressurised solutions to its portfolio. The technology enables hydrogen production at pressures of up to 35 bar, offering efficiency advantages for industrial applications that require compressed hydrogen.

The transaction, valued in the high single-digit millions of euros, was financed entirely from existing liquidity. Thyssenkrupp nucera said the deal aligns with its strategy to expand innovation and accelerate its development roadmap in green hydrogen.
