The Volkswagen Group has reported a significant increase in its battery-electric vehicle (BEV) deliveries in Europe, doubling figures from the previous year. In the first quarter of 2025, the company delivered over 150,000 BEVs in the region, up from 74,400 during the same period in 2024.
This surge reflects a broader trend of growing demand for electric vehicles across Europe, influenced by new EU emissions regulations and the introduction of new electric models. The European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association has noted a rise in EV sales despite an overall decline in total car sales.
Volkswagen’s overall global deliveries also saw a modest increase, with 2.13 million vehicles delivered by the end of March 2025, marking a 1.4% rise compared to the previous year. Growth in North and South America, as well as in Europe, offset a decline in China.
The company anticipates continued momentum in the coming months, bolstered by the launch of new models across various brands. These include the VW ID.7 Tourer, CUPRA Terramar, Škoda Elroq, Audi Q6 e-tron, and Porsche 911.
