Chinese online shoppers more interested in green products

A new report reveals that approximately 25% of online shopping customers in China have purchased energy-saving goods, reflecting a strong consumer interest in green products. According to the China Internet Network Information Center, China boasts over 900 million online shopping users, many of whom are keen on buying eco-friendly items.

The report highlights that 25% of online consumers have purchased smart home appliances, which cater to the increasing demand for safer, easier, healthier, low-carbon, and energy-saving lifestyles. Additionally, there is a notable focus on products related to innovative health technologies.

In this era of digital consumption, the younger generation, especially those born after 2000, is the driving force behind this trend, with over 88% of these young consumers showing a preference for domestic and smart products.  Moreover, the number of consumers aged over 60 is on the rise, with a significant focus on healthcare and travel products.
