Lloyds Banking Group appoints Khadija Ali as sustainability director

Lloyds Banking Group has announced the appointment of Khadija Ali as the Group Director of Sustainability and Responsible Business, a newly created role designed to enhance the Group’s commitment to sustainability. In this new role, Khadija will lead the Group’s Social and Environmental Sustainability teams and report to Chief Sustainability Officer, Andrew Walton.

Before joining Lloyds, Khadija Ali led the UK Climate Change and Sustainability Services practice in EY. She has also served as the interim Director of Environmental Sustainability at Lloyds from 2021 to 2022. 

As Group Director of Sustainability and Responsible Business, Khadija will work on strengthening the delivery of the Group’s sustainability strategy and further integrating sustainability outcomes into business priorities.

Ali and Walton will join the Net Zero Banking Alliance (NZBA) Steering Group starting 1st July, following the recent member election, to work on NZBA’s global commitments towards achieving net zero by 2050.
