SunHydrogen partners with Honda for low-cost green hydrogen production

SunHydrogen Inc., a US-based pioneer in renewable hydrogen production using sunlight and water, has announced a joint development agreement with Honda R&D Co., LTD.

SunHydrogen’s solar hydrogen technology relies on abundant, low-cost materials, requires only sunlight as power, and is designed for scalability. The system comprises a substrate, photovoltaic layers, and catalysts to split water into green hydrogen and oxygen efficiently.

In collaboration with SunHydrogen, Honda R&D Co. will leverage its advanced manufacturing and design expertise to develop a ready-to-install hydrogen panel for safe and efficient hydrogen production and collection.

The main goal of this partnership is to advance the application of SunHydrogen’s solar-hydrogen technology, making green hydrogen production more cost-effective. Honda R&D Co. focuses on developing emerging technologies to support Honda’s goal of achieving carbon neutrality for all products and operations by 2050.
