CATL launches world’s first new energy centre for EVs

CATL, a Chinese EV battery manufacturer, has launched NING Space, the world’s first new energy experience centre, in Chengdu, Sichuan Province.

Developed in collaboration with various car manufacturers and the local government, NING Space offers an immersive experience where consumers can “view, select, use, and learn” about electric vehicles, accelerating the global shift towards e-mobility.

At the opening ceremony, Li Ping, Vice Chairman of CATL, highlighted the ongoing global energy transformation and its impact on the automotive industry and consumer mindset. He noted that CATL’s new platform, created in partnership with automakers, aims to bridge the gap between manufacturers and consumers, fostering innovation and mutual success.

Luo Jian, General Manager of CATL’s Marketing Department, emphasised that NING Space, with its unique features of “completeness” and “innovation,” is designed to help automakers showcase their vehicles, assist consumers in choosing the right cars, and promote a low-carbon lifestyle.

The 13,000 m² complex, the world’s first EV brand pavilion, features nearly 100 models from around 50 car brands, offering consumers an extensive and continuous auto show experience. EV experts are available throughout the space to answer questions and provide personalised recommendations based on consumer needs, budgets, and uses. The centre also provides insights into the history and development of electric vehicles and highlights the latest battery technologies. Regular science workshops are to be hosted to help users of all ages explore green energy and electric vehicles.

At the opening, CATL introduced “NING SERVICE,” an after-sales service brand supported by 112 professional service stations and a comprehensive training system. “NING SERVICE” offers high-quality services such as battery maintenance, health checks, and mobile rescue, ensuring a seamless experience for EV users.

Additionally, CATL launched a WeChat mini-program to enhance user experience and service offerings further. The mini-program, tailored for EV users, provides features including charging station searches, selection assistance, usage tips, and science workshops about new energy. CATL delivers efficient, convenient, and high-quality services to EV users through this digital platform.
