BDO and IFC launch green finance training

BDO Unibank Inc. (BDO), in collaboration with the International Finance Corporation (IFC), has launched a specialised training initiative as part of the Alliance for Green Commercial Banks’ pilot programme, aimed at propelling the green transformation within the banking and finance sectors.

The programme, led by IFC experts, featured in-depth workshops focused on Green Finance for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), Transition Finance, and Impact Financing. These sessions were designed to equip BDO leaders and relationship managers with the necessary skills and knowledge to foster sustainable banking practices.

The Alliance for Green Commercial Banks, initiated by the IFC and the Hong Kong Monetary Authority, seeks to build a network of banks committed to integrating green finance principles to combat climate change effectively. This initiative highlights the increasing role of financial institutions in addressing environmental challenges through innovative financing solutions.
