Oracle’s new cloud sustainability application to boost environmental reporting

Oracle has announced the launch of Oracle Fusion Cloud Sustainability, a new addition to the Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications Suite designed to help organisations better manage and report on their sustainability initiatives. Offered to customers at no extra cost, the application provides business leaders with tools to efficiently capture, analyse, and report critical sustainability data, improving decision-making and accelerating environmental progress.

“Customers consistently tell us that the greatest barrier to understanding their environmental impact is the time and complexity required to chase down, organise, and analyse the necessary data,” said Steve Miranda, executive vice president, Applications Development, Oracle.

He added, “With Oracle Fusion Cloud Sustainability, customers can eliminate these challenges, efficiently align data with the latest regional guidelines, automate sustainability reporting processes, improve decision-making, and accelerate progress on their sustainability goals.”

Oracle Fusion Cloud Sustainability integrates with Oracle Fusion Cloud Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Oracle Fusion Cloud Supply Chain & Manufacturing (SCM), facilitating analysis and reporting within Oracle Fusion Cloud Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) and Oracle Fusion Data Intelligence.

The suit comes with multiple features like automated transaction records, contextualised data, prebuilt dashboards and much more.

The AI-driven automation ensures speed, accuracy, and transparency in sustainability reporting by automatically generating records and updating a sustainability ledger. Contextualised data provides a comprehensive view of operational data, enabling business leaders to focus on assets, processes, suppliers, and products that need attention.

The suit offers holistic sustainability performance insights through its prebuilt dashboards with key performance indicators (KPIs) and customisable analyses. It also ensures reporting accuracy with tamper-proof records and financial-grade audit traceability for all sustainability-related activities and emissions.

The platform automatically calculates carbon footprints and helps organisations understand the environmental impact of business decisions by using emission factors and potential comparisons with global warming.  It also enables business leaders to streamline data collection from third-party applications and track activity needed to meet reporting requirements by importing activity data directly from external sources via REST APIs and spreadsheets.

Oracle Fusion Applications Suite enables organisations to harness the power of AI and cloud technology to manage finance, HR, supply chain, and customer experience data on a single platform. The suite ensures continuous innovation with quarterly updates, helping businesses stay ahead in a rapidly changing landscape.
