Mitsubishi produces 100,000 units of electric mini-vehicles

Mitsubishi Motors has announced that the cumulative production of its eK X EV and Nissan Sakura electric mini-vehicles has reached a significant milestone of 100,000 units. Production of the eK X EV and Nissan Sakura began in May 2022 at Mitsubishi Motors’ Mizushima Plant, achieving this landmark in just over two years and five months.

Developed through the combined expertise of Mitsubishi Motors and Nissan, both leaders in the electric vehicle (EV) industry, these models have garnered numerous accolades from the automotive sector. They are seen as pivotal in Japan’s push toward decarbonisation, representing an ideal form of mobility for the future.
