Maia Kutner appointed Global Director of Green Gas Protocol

The World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) has announced the appointment of Maia Kutner as its Global Director of Greenhouse Gas Protocol. Joining in November 2024, Kutner will co-lead the GHG Protocol secretariat in collaboration with the World Resources Institute’s (WRI) Global Director for Greenhouse Gas Protocol.

Kutner brings over 15 years of experience in climate change, spanning roles in both the private and public sectors. Her expertise includes leading global programmes, building partnerships, and developing strategic initiatives.

Before joining WBCSD, Kutner served at CDP, where she spearheaded two flagship programmes: Corporate Reporting and Cities. As Global Director for Cities, States, and Regions, she managed efforts to support over 1,200 cities, states, and regions in climate measurement and reporting. In her previous role as Director of Corporate Reporting, she oversaw the development of environmental reporting metrics and guidance utilized by more than 6,000 companies worldwide, including 95% of the FTSE 100.

Kutner holds an MSc in Environmental Policy and Regulation from the London School of Economics and a BA in Philosophy, Political Science, and Economics from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. She resides in London with her family.
