Asics launches Neocurve Sneaker made from recycled materials

Asics has introduced the Neocurve sneaker, a new footwear model crafted from recycled materials, including ground-up footwear, deadstock, and defective shoes. The initiative is part of the company’s efforts to integrate sustainable practices into its production processes.

The sneaker was developed in collaboration with Fast Feet Grinded, a Netherlands-based recycling company that disassembled and processed discarded materials provided by Asics. The final design was completed at Studio Hagel in Amsterdam, minimising transportation-related emissions.

“We aimed to innovate while staying true to the brand’s essence, experimenting to push boundaries and create something fresh and impactful,” said Mathieu Hagelaars, creative director at Studio Hagel, who noted the design team referenced Asics’ 35-year archive during the project.

The Neocurve sneaker is being launched exclusively in Europe and reflects a focus on using recycled materials to reduce waste. This move aligns with broader trends in the footwear industry toward sustainable manufacturing practices.
