TotalEnergies Marine Fuels has delivered its first B100 biofuel bunker in Singapore, marking a significant milestone in its commitment to low-carbon shipping fuels.
Using the IMO Type II chemical bunker tanker, MAPLE, from Global Energy Group, TotalEnergies Marine Fuels transferred 700 metric tons of Used Cooking Oil Methyl Ester (UCOME)-based biofuel to the Pure Car and Truck Carrier (PCTC) Glovis Cosmos, owned by Hyundai Glovis.
This UCOME biodiesel, a second-generation, waste-based fuel from Southeast Asia, follows a circular economy model to reduce competition with arable land and is certified by the International Sustainability & Carbon Certification (ISCC) system.
Previously, TotalEnergies Marine Fuels blended VLSFO (Very Low Sulfur Fuel Oil) with up to 30% UCOME biofuel in its operations. This is the first instance of supplying biofuel in its entirety, potentially reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 80% to 90% on a well-to-wake basis.

An Electronic Bunker Delivery Note (eBDN) was issued for the delivery. TotalEnergies Marine Fuels has digitalised its bunker delivery reporting system since the start of the year, to optimise operations and make them safer.
