Taiwanese company YOUWAN Concentrate Consultants has introduced the “YOUWAN Method,” a unique carbon reduction technology that transforms carbon dioxide into stable solid products such as calcium carbonate. This innovation tackles inefficiencies in traditional carbon capture methods, enabling resource reuse and driving a green circular economy.
The YOUWAN method for CO₂ removal combines absorption, concentration, and transformation to achieve a triple carbon reduction goal: carbon capture, carbon product creation, and carbon sequestration. Certified by SGS Taiwan and validated by the XPRIZE Carbon Removal Competition, the method captures carbon dioxide with 100% efficiency from gas streams or air. Each ton of carbon dioxide captured can reduce up to an additional 4.5 tons of emissions, offering both environmental and economic benefits.
This technology has been recognized for its profitability, making it one of the few certified cost-effective carbon reduction solutions globally, according to XPRIZE’s cost analysis.
In 2024, the YOUWAN Method gained international acclaim as one of the top 100 finalists in the XPRIZE Carbon Removal Competition, funded by Elon Musk. The method was the only Taiwanese innovation to reach the final stage.
Founder Slone Wang emphasised YOUWAN’s commitment to environmental and economic synergy, aiming to set a benchmark in carbon capture and circular economy sectors. By partnering with industries worldwide, YOUWAN seeks to contribute significantly to global carbon neutrality goals, advancing sustainability through technological innovation.
