TRC Companies has surpassed $2 billion in secured funding for clean commercial transport and renewable energy projects across North America. The professional services firm has successfully developed and submitted more than 650 grant applications and funding requests on behalf of its clients, supporting projects in low- and zero-emission transport, renewable energy, energy storage, and utility initiatives.
TRC reports a 90% success rate in grant applications, securing local, state, and federal funding for projects in the United States and Canada.
Among the projects benefiting from TRC’s support is the JETSI Project, which secured $40 million to deploy 100 zero-emission Class 8 trucks in Southern California. The Volvo LIGHTS initiative received $44 million to establish a blueprint for the large-scale deployment of commercial battery-electric trucks. In the renewable energy sector, the Nevada Gold Mines 200 MW Solar Project was awarded $95 million to support the decarbonisation of mining operations.
Additionally, the Frito-Lay Zero and Near Zero Emission Freight Facility in Modesto, California, received $15.4 million to integrate advanced clean transport solutions alongside renewable power generation and energy storage. The Mariposa County Resource Conservation District secured $5 million to develop biomass-to-energy systems, while Foster Farms obtained $6.5 million to install EV charging stations and implement emissions-reducing mechanical upgrades at multiple facilities. Additionally, Otter Tail Power Company received $4.4 million to enhance grid resilience using next-generation technology.
TRC has also played a role in securing funding through key programmes, including the EPA’s Targeted AirShed Grant Programme, DOE’s SuperTruck Programme, DOE’s Hydrogen Hubs Programme, DOT’s Charging and Fueling Infrastructure (CFI) Grant Programme, and FHWA’s National Electric Vehicle Initiative (NEVI) Formula Programme.
The firm leverages a team of grant writers and project developers with extensive experience in securing and managing funding, monitoring over 800 grant programmes to align applications with agency criteria. TRC’s expertise has enabled clients to access funding from sources such as Volkswagen Settlement Funds, the Federal Highway Administration, the Department of Energy, the California Air Resources Board, and the Low Carbon Fuel Standard programme.
The secured funding is expected to accelerate the deployment of clean energy solutions, contributing to decarbonisation efforts across multiple industries.
