APA Group (ASX: APA) has formalised a three-year Strategic Partnership Agreement with Siemens Energy, aimed at accelerating major energy infrastructure projects across Australia. The framework focuses on early engagement and innovation to secure supply chains for high-demand equipment, including large-frame gas turbines.
The partnership leverages Siemens Energy’s global technical expertise to support APA’s diverse portfolio of gas-fired power, renewables, and electricity projects. By formalising their long-standing relationship—which already includes maintenance of the North West Power System in Queensland and assets in the Pilbara—the two firms aim to improve delivery certainty for critical national infrastructure.
APA CEO Adam Watson emphasised the necessity of the alliance for maintaining Australia’s energy independence. Regarding the complexity of modern energy projects, Watson stated, “Now more than ever before, collaboration is required to bring major energy projects to life.”
Siemens Energy executive Karim Amin noted that gas power remains vital for stabilising the grid during the coal-to-gas shift, confirming the company’s commitment to powering Australia’s transition with high-efficiency technology.
