Ara Partners has committed up to $500 million to Sedron Technologies, a specialist in transforming waste streams into reusable water and fertiliser. The investment aims to accelerate the deployment of Sedron’s proprietary Varcor technology across North America. This system processes liquid waste using ten per cent of the energy required by traditional methods, offering a scalable solution for municipal biosolids and agricultural waste.
In the municipal sector, Sedron’s technology converts wastewater into purified water and fuel for carbon-negative electricity, effectively destroying “forever chemicals” like PFAS. A new regional facility in Indiantown, Florida, is set for a groundbreaking ceremony on 23 April. Simultaneously, Sedron’s agricultural division turns dairy manure into organic fertilisers and clean water, significantly reducing methane emissions and nutrient runoff.
“Sedron is transforming materials that once harmed the environment into valuable, revenue-generating products,” stated Cory Steffek, Partner at Ara Partners.
Geoff Trukenbrod, CEO of Sedron Technologies, added, “Ara’s investment gives us the capital to build projects faster and bring Varcor systems to more communities and farms looking for viable, lower-carbon alternatives.”
