Blue Yonder, a company offering end-to-end digital supply chain transformation, has acquired the business of UK-based Pledge Earth Technologies Ltd., a carbon tracking software firm, in a move aimed at strengthening its emissions measurement and sustainability capabilities across global supply chains.
Pledge, founded in 2021, specialises in digital tools that support logistics service providers (LSPs), beneficial cargo owners (BCOs), and supply chain managers in tracking and reporting carbon emissions, particularly Scope 3 emissions from indirect transport-related sources. The integration of Pledge’s platform will enable Blue Yonder to offer emissions reporting in accordance with internationally recognised standards, including the Global Logistics Emissions Council (GLEC) framework and ISO 14083.
Saskia van Gendt, Chief Sustainability Officer at Blue Yonder, said: “The ability to easily and accurately quantify precise emissions is a huge win for our customers’ sustainability initiatives. By gaining more insight on the environmental impact of their logistics operations, businesses can reduce cost, improve accountability for logistics emissions, and target specific inefficiencies for improvement.”
The software automates the collection and processing of shipment-level emissions data across transport modes—air, sea, inland, and logistics hubs—allowing businesses to comply with increasingly strict reporting obligations such as the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), the Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi), and the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP).
Pledge CEO and co-founder, David de Picciotto, said: “At Pledge, we believe that technology is a powerful catalyst in the fight against climate change. By joining forces with Blue Yonder, we are multiplying our reach and our impact, giving the largest enterprise supply chains on the planet access to the tools they need to measure, report, and cut carbon.”
Bjoern Stengel, global sustainability lead at research firm IDC, commented on the acquisition: “In an era where corporate social responsibility and ESG initiatives are non-negotiable, accredited emissions reporting is the gold standard for high-quality data. By integrating a proven, successful product into its platform, Blue Yonder will help propel its customers towards smarter, more impactful sustainability management.”
The acquisition reflects growing pressure on companies to improve emissions transparency and align with climate targets. Blue Yonder said the newly acquired capabilities will help customers better understand the emissions impact of their logistics decisions and support compliance with global environmental regulations.
The integration of Pledge’s team and technology into Blue Yonder is now complete, with services available to existing and new customers across both platforms.
