CDR.fyi has launched Portal 2.0, an upgrade to its market intelligence platform used by more than 2,000 participants across the durable carbon dioxide removal (CDR) ecosystem.
The update marks the next phase in CDR.fyi’s public benefit mission to accelerate durable carbon removal by improving transparency and access to market intelligence. Since its launch in 2022, the platform has positioned itself as a source of record for CDR market activity and projects, aiming to build trust through open and verifiable data.
With Portal 2.0, CDR.fyi said it is broadening access to more sophisticated insights, allowing buyers, suppliers, startups and scaling companies to navigate the rapidly evolving CDR market with greater speed and confidence.
The company confirmed that its core transparency commitments will remain unchanged. Free access will continue to be available to market leaderboards, supplier profiles and high-level market trends on its website, alongside a free portal dashboard, curated newsfeed and market overview. Its open intelligence approach, which underpins trust across the CDR ecosystem, will also remain central to the platform.
Alongside these free features, Portal 2.0 introduces a new set of premium tools aimed at market participants requiring deeper and faster intelligence. A new AI Data Scientist feature enables users to query the full ORDERS database using natural language, delivering instant insights without the need for spreadsheets, coding or data teams.
The platform has also added enhanced price insights, allowing users to benchmark pricing across carbon removal methods and technologies, analyse weighted averages, review price ranges and track trends over time. In addition, advanced filtering tools enable users to quickly sort and analyse orders by criteria such as geography, delivery status, timeline, contract type and methodology.
According to CDR.fyi, revenue from premium subscriptions will be reinvested into strengthening the durability and credibility of the market. The company said this will support more rigorous verification processes, faster data updates and broader coverage across carbon removal approaches.
As part of its “give to get” model, CDR.fyi is also offering free premium access to suppliers and intermediaries that share anonymised data with the platform. The company said this approach is designed to reward transparency while deepening the quality of shared market intelligence across the ecosystem.
