Clarity AI acquires Ecolytiq to expand consumer-focused climate engagement tools

Clarity AI has acquired Ecolytiq, a Berlin-based provider of climate engagement tools for financial institutions, in a move aimed at broadening its sustainability intelligence offerings to retail and commercial banking customers. The acquisition also brings Visa on board as a strategic investor and partner.

Ecolytiq’s platform analyses real-time transaction data to estimate environmental impact and deliver sustainability content to banking customers. Its solutions, which are used by financial institutions across Europe and beyond, are designed to promote climate-conscious behaviour among consumers. The company has worked closely with Visa, whose payment network includes around 14,500 financial institution clients globally.

“This acquisition is more than a strategic move; it’s a declaration of intent,” said Rebeca Minguela, Founder and CEO of Clarity AI. “Ecolytiq’s platform aligns perfectly with our mission to embed sustainability intelligence into every decision—from multi-billion-dollar portfolios to everyday purchases.”

David Lais, Co-Founder and Managing Director at Ecolytiq, added: “Banking can be a powerful catalyst for climate action. By joining forces with Clarity AI, we’re combining behavioural science-based engagement tools with a broader AI-driven sustainability platform to accelerate the transition to a greener future.”

Clarity AI, which provides sustainability data and analytics to institutional investors, corporates, and retail clients, said the acquisition would help strengthen its consumer-facing capabilities. Its platform is currently used by clients managing approximately $70 trillion in assets.

The integration of Ecolytiq enhances Clarity AI’s position as a provider of sustainability intelligence across the financial value chain, supporting both large-scale portfolio management and individual consumer decisions.
