CSRWorks International Joins the UN Women’s Empowerment Principles, Strengthening Commitment to Gender Equality and Inclusive Business

Singapore, 27 December 2025 – CSRWorks International, a leading sustainability consulting, assurance, and training firm, has become a signatory to the UN Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs), reinforcing its long-standing commitment to advancing gender equality and women’s empowerment across the workplace, marketplace, and community. The company’s commitment has been officially approved by UN Women and the UN Global Compact.

The Women’s Empowerment Principles offer a globally recognised framework aligned with SDG 5: Gender Equality, guiding companies in promoting fair, inclusive, and gender-responsive business practices. By joining the global WEPs community, CSRWorks strengthens both its internal efforts and its influence across Asia’s sustainability landscape.

“Our commitment to the Women’s Empowerment Principles reflects who we are and the world we strive to help create,” said Rajesh Chhabara, Founder and Managing Director of CSRWorks International. “At CSRWorks International, our purpose is to help build a more sustainable, inclusive and equitable world. Guided by our mission—Better Business. Better World.—we have spent nearly two decades advancing sustainability. By aligning with the Women’s Empowerment Principles, we reaffirm that gender equality is essential to true sustainability and commit to empowering women and fostering workplaces where they can participate, progress and thrive.”

CSRWorks International is widely recognised for its strong internal commitment to gender equity. Women currently make up 79% of the organisation’s workforce and hold 50% of senior management roles, a reflection of the company’s dedication to cultivating a balanced and diverse leadership pipeline. Women lead many of CSRWorks’ core advisory, assurance, and training functions.

The company’s inclusive culture was recently recognised with its Great Place to Work® Certification, underscoring CSRWorks’ emphasis on trust, respect, safety, and a positive employee experience. Creating an environment where women can succeed has long been a priority. CSRWorks offers hybrid and flexible work arrangements, including flexible working hours to support mothers with young children, as well as equal opportunity and anti-discrimination safeguards, transparent learning and promotion pathways, wellbeing support such as yoga and meditation benefits, and a strict zero-tolerance harassment policy.

“Creating an environment where women feel safe, respected, and supported has always been central to our culture,” added Chhabara. “These principles guide not only how we work internally but also how we support our clients in building responsible and inclusive businesses.”

CSRWorks plays a pivotal role in elevating sustainability and ESG excellence across Asia. The firm leads high-impact regional initiatives such as the Asia Sustainability Reporting Awards (ASRA) and the Asia Sustainability Reporting Summit, which have become benchmarks for quality and transparency in sustainability reporting. ASRA also recognises leadership in diversity and inclusion through the Asia’s Best Diversity Report category, reflecting CSRWorks’ broader efforts to advance gender-responsive reporting practices.

Beyond its thought leadership, CSRWorks provides a comprehensive suite of sustainability services, including sustainability strategy development, sustainability reporting, third-party assurance and verification, GHG accounting, and science-based target setting. The firm also supports companies in improving performance in global sustainability ratings such as EcoVadis, CDP, the S&P Corporate Sustainability Assessment, MSCI, and GRESB and advises on human rights risk assessments and broader sustainability integration.

As businesses across Asia face rising expectations for transparency, accountability, and inclusive governance, CSRWorks’ endorsement of the WEPs positions the firm as both a practitioner and a champion of gender-responsive sustainability.
