EFRAG has issued a call for European stakeholders to help shape its formal response to the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) following the launch of a public consultation on 26 March 2026.
This final phase of the SASB Standards revision focuses on three critical sectors: Electric Utilities & Power Generators, Agricultural Products, and Meat, Poultry & Dairy. The updates also include refined guidance for IFRS S2 Climate-related Disclosures.
The consultation, which runs until 24 July 2026, is vital for maintaining interoperability between international frameworks and European reporting requirements. As the draft simplified ESRS 1 allows companies to use IFRS industry-based guidance for specific disclosures, EFRAG is prioritising a unified European position to ensure these standards remain practical and aligned with regional needs.
To facilitate this, EFRAG will publish a Draft Comment Letter in late spring and host a series of targeted workshops and surveys. The organisation is specifically seeking insights from preparers, auditors, and investors within the affected industries to ensure the European perspective is reflected in the final global standards.
