Hitachi ZeroCarbon has unveiled an integrated suite of electric vehicle (EV) fleet solutions designed to support fleet operators at every stage of their decarbonisation journey. The end-to-end offering spans strategic planning, financing, charging management, and battery optimisation – aiming to simplify the transition to electric fleets ahead of the 2035 zero-emissions vehicle deadline mandated across Europe.
Recognising that fleet managers face differing challenges, from building business cases to trialling EVs, Hitachi’s new suite provides tailored services to address each aspect of the electrification process.
Key components of the new offering include:
- ZeroCarbon Fleet: Combines charging and battery management tools to ensure operational readiness, protect battery health, and generate additional energy revenue streams.
- ZeroCarbon Charge: A round-the-clock managed service and technology platform offering real-time alerts, vehicle monitoring, load balancing and advanced tariff optimisation.
- ZeroCarbon BatteryManager: Provides a data-driven platform to monitor battery performance, extend lifespan, and safeguard residual value.
- ZeroCarbon Strategy: Offers end-to-end support for fleet decarbonisation, from site assessments and total cost of ownership calculations to bespoke strategies and financing access.
These solutions build on Hitachi’s role in the Optimise Prime initiative, the world’s largest commercial EV trial involving more than 8,000 vehicles. Drawing from this experience, Hitachi has worked with leading UK fleets and infrastructure partners to co-develop practical, scalable EV fleet tools.
Mike Nugent, Chief Revenue Officer at Hitachi ZeroCarbon, commented: “Our customers often don’t know where to begin, so we’ve created a seamless, people-focused offering that removes complexity and capital barriers. By integrating strategy, charge management and battery optimisation, we help businesses unlock real operational value from electrification.”
Stig Tvergrov of Posten Bring, a Hitachi ZeroCarbon client, added: “Operating in a tough climate, we needed a resilient partner. Hitachi’s ZeroCarbon Charge gave us full visibility over our battery health and performance, with no disruption to existing systems. It’s helping us hit our climate targets sooner.”
Hitachi ZeroCarbon currently oversees more than 1,000 EV assets across Europe, North America, and Asia, providing 24/7 managed services that are technology-agnostic and adaptable to any existing fleet infrastructure.
